The
Furniture
Service
was
set
up
to
help
people
on
benefits
or
low
incomes
in
need
of
good
quality,
low
cost
furniture.
The
items
of
furniture
are
donated
to
us
by
members
of
the
community
and
we
re-distribute
them.
This
not
only
helps
people
in
need
but
also
diverts
bulky
waste
away
from
landfill
which
helps
the
environment.
With
access
to
good
quality
furniture,
people
who
cannot
afford
to
purchase
new
items
will
be
able
to
furnish
their
homes
giving
them
a
good
standard
of
living
and
dignity.
The
low
cost
furniture
will
help
to
reduce
the
number
of
people
getting
into
debt
or
living
in
homes
with
poor
quality
items
which
can
affect
their
emotional
well-being.
The
money
they
save
can
then
be
spent
elsewhere
allowing
their
budgets
to
stretch
further.
The
Furniture
Service
also
houses
a
number
of
training
and
volunteering
opportunities
for
members
of
the
local
community,
teaching
life
and
work
skills
&
knowledge
to
prepare
participants
to
enter
the
labour
market.
We
have
volunteers
using
the
service
who
have
various
disabilities,
we
offer
them
indirect
training
and
support
in
a
wide
range
of
job
skills.
This
enables
them
to
gain
confidence,
social
integration
and
to
make
them
more
work
ready,
this
also
helps
to
provide
a
better
lifestyle
for
them
and
their
families.
We
continue
to
provide
a
free
collection
service
for
the
furniture
