times!
The
community
gardens,
which
were
reclaimed
from
previously
derelict
land,
surround
the
former
Church
of
St
Peters,
Thorney
Close.
Years
of
loving
care
by
volunteers
and
trainees
have
seen
the
land
transformed
into
a
beautiful
and
peaceful
local
facility.
School
groups
as
well
as
local
residents
have
often
"Popped
into
the
gardens"
for
impromptu
environmental
lessons
or
a
"bit
of
peace
and
quiet"
on
an
otherwise
busy
housing
estate.
Set
in
our
award
winning
community
garden,
the
classroom
was
built
with
the
assistance
of
funding
from
Thompsons
of
Prudhoe
Environmental
Trust.
It
has
been
used
by
local
schools
and
community
groups.
